The Atlanta Braves challenged the the New York Mets yesterday at Citi Field with the Braves earning the win 6 to 3. It was one heck of a game that devotees with Braves tickets will definitely cherish. Baseball isn’t the only game in town. See what other cheap sports tickets are out there.
Braves pitcher Derek Lowe (4.18 ERA) got the win, while R.A. Dickey (2.92 ERA) took the loss for the Mets. Derek Lowe went 6 innings for the Braves, allowed 4 hits, one home run and 2 earned runs with one walk and 2 strikeouts. Also pitching for the Braves was Eric O’Flaherty (2.47), and Jonny Venters (1.76). The Mets’s starter R.A. Dickey went 6 innings, allowed 10 hits, no home runs and 4 earned runs with 2 walks and no strikeouts. Pedro Feliciano (2.91), Manny Acosta (3.34), Raul Valdes (5.51), Elmer Dessens (1.93), and Pat Misch (4.44) also pitched for the Mets. With the win, Lowe’s record goes to 14-12, while Dickey is at 11-7. Craig Kimbrel earned the save for the Braves, bringing his saves up to 1.
Derrek Lee provided much of the offense for the Braves with an incredible 4 runs batted in. In addition to the 6 runs, the Braves scored 12 hits and committed no errors. It wasn’t a huge day for anyone at the plate for the Braves, as nobody managed more than 2 hits. Martin Prado had a tough day at the plate, leaving 5 runners on base. The Mets didn’t have anyone with a big night with not one batter getting more than 2 hits. The Mets got 3 runs, 8 hits and one error.
Umpiring duties were performed by Bruce Dreckman, Paul Emmel, Bill Hohn and Gary Darling. There were 33,612 Mets ticket holders in attendance at Citi Field.
