Roy Oswalt went 9 solid innings for the Phillies, allowed 4 hits, no home runs and no earned runs with one walk and 6 strikeouts. The Mets’s starter Jonathon Niese went 7 innings, allowed 8 hits, one home run and 3 earned runs with 2 walks and 6 strikeouts. Pedro Feliciano (2.92), Manny Acosta (3.19), and Elmer Dessens (2.09) also pitched for the Mets. With the win, Oswalt’s record goes to 12-13, while Niese is at 9-8.
In addition to the 3 runs, the Phillies scored 9 hits and committed no errors. It wasn’t a huge day for anyone at the plate for the Phillies, as nobody managed more than 2 hits.
